Get a New Life!

You've got a problem ~ Sin.

God's got a solution  ~ Jesus Christ. Crucified.

The Bible says it this way:
"When we were utterly helpless,Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners"
(Romans 5:6 NLT)

Since God cannot be other than holy and just (for He cannot deny His essential nature), He must act out of His holiness and exact justice against sin. Your sin. Everyone's sin. But God's essential nature also includes His love and mercy. Listen to what God says:

"As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people.
I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live."
(Ezekiel 33:11 NLT)

How can Jesus' death on the cross
solve your relationship problem with God?

In a supreme act of love, God became a man-- incarnate in the person of Jesus Christ. Taking on human form, Jesus was subject to all the evil and temptations of this world. But unlike the first man, Adam, Jesus was perfectly obedient to His Father God. He did not sin. (He did not have a sin nature, because he did not have a human father. His was an immaculate conception by the Virgin Mary, according to the Scriptures.)

Jesus offered his perfect, sinless life as a payment for all sin, for all time. The Bible puts it this way: "For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:21 NLT) That means God has made a way for you to be forgiven. Cleansed from your sin. Restored to a right relationship with Him through His Son Jesus.

Isn't there any other solution for sin?
What if you obey the Ten Commandments?

Nope. That's impossible. You might try. Some of the time you might succeed, at least outwardly. But God sees our hearts. He knows our motives. We can do the right thing for the wrong reason. The Bible says none of us seek to please God. We always put our own agendas and our own pleasures first. The point of the moral Law God gave in the form of the Ten Commandments was to show us how imperfect we are. To show us our need for a Savior. A deliverer. The Bible says: "If the law could have given us new life, we could have been made right by obeying it. But the Scriptures have declared that we are all prisoners of sin, so the only way to receive God's promise is to believe in Jesus Christ." (Galatians 3:21b-22 NLT)

The Bible offers the only hope:
Get a new life!

The question is: do you want one? Do you want more than your present life that ends in death? Do you hunger for a life that has meaning and purpose the way God designed it to be? Do you want to be at peace with God, at peace with yourself, at peace with others? Then here's what the Bible says you have to do:

CONFESS YOUR SINS.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
(1 John 1:9)

BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,  so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."
(John 3:16 NLT)

RECEIVE GOD'S GIFT OF NEW LIFE BY FAITH.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--
not by works, so that no one can boast."
(Ephesians 2: 8,9)

You don't have to use fancy words, or try to impress God when you talk with him. That's what praying is all about. Telling God honestly and simply what's on your heart and mind. So go ahead! Tell God you're sorry for your sins. That you want to trust Jesus' death on the cross to save you, and that you want a new life in Christ.

If you did that...

CONGRATULATIONS!
YOU'VE GOT A NEW LIFE!

Listen to what the Bible has to say to you through the great Apostle Paul:

Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled by others and became slaves to many wicked desires and evil pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy. We hated others, and they hated us.

But then God our Savior showed us his kindness and love. He saved us, not because of the good things we did, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins and gave us a new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us because of what Jesus Christ our Savior did. He declared us not guilty because of his great kindness. And now we know that we will inherit eternal life.

(Titus 3:3-7 NLT)
