Ways to support Missions from home!

This page features snapshots of upcoming volunteer opportunities.   Mission Events can be found
here and full information about short-term trips, here.
Missionary Care Groups
Do your have a heart for missions? Do you like to hear about how God's Spirit is moving across the world today? Would you like to get together with 6-8 others who share the same love for missions once or twice a month to listen to and get involved with Cornerstone-Supported missionaries? Cornerstone is currently forming multiple missionary care groups to be able to better serve and "love on" our missionaries. If you have any questions please contact Pastor Scott Larson at 810-227-9411 or his email.

Teach English as a Second Language
The Arab American Friendship Center needs a few people to teach English as a Second Language (ESL).  No teaching experience is needed -- with a little training, anyone who speaks English can teach ESL.  You just need to have a heart for living out a Christian witness to ladies from other countries who live in our own backyard (Dearborn).  This is a great outreach to Muslim ladies, showing them the love of Christ in many ways.  If you are able to teach ESL or would like to learn how, please contact Betty at 810-225-0762.

Donate to Bethany Christian Services
Bethany Christian Services, a CEPC-supported adoption service, is seeking donations of baby items.  You, your small group or your Sunday School class can donate any of the following:
  • Infant clothes (size 0-3 months)
  • Baby wipes
  • Diapers (size 1)
  • Baby powder
  • Baby lotion
  • Pacifiers
  • Baby blankets
If you'd like to donate some of these items, please contact Sue Walker at 810-494-4043 or email her

Volunteer at Pregnancy Helpline
Pregnancy Helpline and the Pregnancy Help Clinic needs volunteers to fill many positions, as their client numbers are climbing.  There are so many opportunities to impact the lives of women at a crisis point in their lives or help teens make wise decisions -- openings are available for:  office help, answering phones and scheduling appointments, parent mentors to work with clients in parenting and life skills, presenters for teen relationship seminars, church liaisons and Baby Closet workers to sort donations and stock shelves.  If you'd like more information or want to serve, call Joan at 810-494-5433.

Volunteer at Military Avenue Summer VBS or December's Christmas Party
Every year Cornerstone goes to Military Ave EPC in August to provide VBS for the inner city kids. Volunteers are always needed. In July, look for the information here on the web or in the Engage newsletter.
Every December,  Cornerstone also throws a fun and exciting Christmas party at Military Ave. A box full of food for a Christmas meal is handed out to families and gifts, fun games, and cookies are presented to the kids. Thanks to all who volunteered this 2012. Please come again next winter to share the love of Jesus to those in need!!
