New Life's Path

Welcome to the family!

If you've just been "born again" and become a Christian, you're probably thinking, "What am I supposed to do now?" Or, "What are the rules for living a good Christian life?"

Maybe you've been to church before, and have thought that being a Christian is all about "do's and don'ts". Or maybe you've never been to church because you thought you weren't "holy" enough. Or perhaps you've seen other people who go to church and say they are Christians but act the same as everyone else, and you've thought to yourself, "They're such hypocrites."

Whatever your background or experience, this is a fresh start for you. Never mind about your past, or about other people, and what they are or aren't doing. God wants one thing from you... You!  Jesus put it this way:
At Cornerstone, we're all building on a strong foundation...
for LIFE!

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your mind."

Matthew 22:37

Jesus wants all of you... your heart, your soul, your mind. He wants your love and devotion. He wants you to talk with him, to enjoy learning about him, to fall in love with him, because he loves you! And the more you learn of him and his wonderful love for you, you'll naturally want to worship him, obey him, and spend more time with him. If you've prayed for God's forgiveness of your sin and received Christ by faith, you've been born again. And Jesus said he will keep your soul, now and forever. You can't lose your salvation once Jesus has gifted it to you. You didn't gain it by following "the rules", and you won't lose it if you don't follow them. Just follow Jesus. Listen to his words:

"All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.  For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."
John 6:37-40

Of course, there are some things that just make sense to help you grow in your faith and learn more about Jesus. Like reading the Bible, going to church to hear his Word (the Bible) proclaimed, and being in fellowship with other believers. (Just be sure you go to a church where Jesus is truly worshiped as Lord, and the Bible is held up as the authority for all questions of faith and life.)
